The Daniels Democracy and Community Foundation (DDCF) mission is to reward and promote individuals/organizations that go above and beyond their charge, with little recognition.
Support grassroots community efforts that provide services to marginalized City of Rochester residents.
Our organization defines MARGINNALIZED as the citizens that are affected by the triple malady (poverty, degradation & ignorance due to inequality).
Uplift the community by promoting organizations and people who are working on grassroots causes. Identify established and emerging leadership to help unite the community and disrupt exclusive silos.
We could not think of a more fitting way to close out Black History month than to give our first $1,000 micro-grant to Khadija Yawn.
When my husband and I first started talking about the foundation in November, we molded our mission and vision after her. She has a heart of gold and gives so much to the community.
Typically people like Khadija are underrecognized and do not qualify for traditional grants. As she is the blueprint, it only makes sense that she was our first recipient!

Each month the Daniels Democracy Community Foundation will grant an individual or organization $1,000
We are proud to have commissioned the Frederick Douglass Murals in Rochester, NY, and Easton, MD. The Douglass family matriarch will soon have ownership.
In concert with County Legislator Frank Alkoffer, Gates Town Historian William Gillette, and Gates Public Library Director Anna Souannavong,
the Daniels Democracy Community Foundation will increase the Douglas awareness in the area.
Coming Soon! DDCF is excited to be partnering with Delores Jackson Radney’s Kuumba Consultants to educate students at Anna Murray Douglass Academy about the
Douglass Family.
DDCF is currently matching funds for Ephraim Gebre’s East High School mural of Constance Mitchell, Minister Franklin Florence, and Malcolm X.
DDCF will be partnering with People’s Choice Restaurant and generous salons across Rochester as we pamper our brave domestic violence survivors.
